Neil Findlay

Neil Findlay spent 18 years in local government and the Scottish Parliament.

He served in numerous front bench positions and sat on the Scottish Parliamentary bureau and chaired the parliament’s Health and Sport Committee.

Neil has been a tireless champion for social justice throughout his time in parliament working extensively with trade unions and social justice campaigners helping them raise their voice in parliament. This includes work with mesh injured women, former miners, and health and environmental campaigners. He also served for 9 years as a Councillor in West Lothian and was the driving force behind the creation of the £7.5 million partnership centre in his home village and the establishment of a very successful community development trust.

Before going into politics full-time, Neil worked as a bricklayer, housing officer and school teacher.

Neil is a member of UNITE the Union

Neil has extensive knowledge of the Scottish Parliament and local government and experience of media liaison, community networking, campaigning  and the policy process.
